Therian meets, also known as therian meetups, are synchronous (social) events in which therians, otherkin and alterhumans-- most of which are synchronous

theriotypes, will get together similarly to a furry convention. These are often in forests so that therians can peacefully shift or be connected to nature. Other times, these will be online events within Zoom, Google Meet, Discord, etc. At meetups Therian, Otherkin, and Alterhumans will most commonly do quadrobics, vocals, or other fun activities of their choice.

Etymology[]

For the etymology of therianthropy, see this page.

Combining the term "therian" (/ˈTHirēən/)with the word "meet" (/mēt/), meaning the optional phenomenon to come into the presence or company of someone by chance or arrangement, the word therian meet was formed.

History[]

It is currently unknown as to when the first therian meet occurred. However, on Therianthropy Day, or November of 1994, a group of werewolf therians got together and commemorated an in-unison howl.[1] Series of research concludes this is possibly the only source of the first ever meet.

How to join or start a therian meet[]

You can visit public therian meets by visiting the website Meetup and searching up results for therian, therianthropy, or whatever category of therianthropy you are under. Or, to start therian meets, you can organize one in a forest or the natural location of your choice. Make sure to avoid public places, however, in case someone were to go through a mental shift or just to simply have the individuals in your meet be connected to nature.
